Rae Mirsky Kane
The Family Writes

Rae Mirsky Kane from Tamarac, Florida, and Cranford, New Jersey, passed away on
October 8, 2023, in Florida. She was 101-3/4 years old. Rae spent her last days in the
company of her loving family.
Rae was predeceased by Allan C. Kane, her husband of 65 years. In Cranford, Rae
was very active with the Cranford Temple Beth-El. She was also active with the B’nai
B’rith Women and twice served as president of the chapter. She was later active with
the Roselle-Cranford Hadassah and served as co-president.
When she moved to Kings Point in Tamarac, Florida, Rae served as secretary of King
Point Hadassah, and was also in the Kings Point chorus.
Rae always believed in lifelong learning. She attended and graduated from Union
County College (in Cranford) when she was in her 70s, and she earned an Associate’s
Degree. She was also an active writer, and has published three books: Climbing the
Mountain, a biography of the unique life of Allan Kane, and also books of her original
poems, called Diverse Verse and Diverse Verse 2. When Rae lived in Tamarac, FL, she
was well known around Kings Point for her poems that were published regularly in the
Kings Point newspaper.
Just as important, Rae was always known for her positive, cheerful nature. She was
always upbeat, constantly seeing the bright side and always smiling. She lived a long,
wonderful, happy life.
Rae is survived by her two children, Dr. Martin Kane from Delray Beach, and Leslie
Kane, MA, from Summit, NJ., and her daughter-in-law Esther Kane. Rae’s son, Dr.
Daniel Kane, predeceased her. Rae’s family also includes her grandson Mitchell
Bernstein and wife Olya Debrin and two great-grandchildren, Mark Bernstein and Craig
Bernstein, who loved her very much.
